You are welcoming the person as they walk in, often times in the morning, you're the first place they go after leaving the house. It's up to YOU to make their day. You may be the first person they interact with outside their homes, giving you the power to leave a lasting impression on them. Saying something kind or friendly really goes a long way, both as a barista and as a normal person going about daily business."
